Johnston Student Athletes Participate in Natonial Signing Day

Wednesday the dreams of thousand of high school athletes came true.

National Signing Day is a time where student athletes sign their commitment to continue playing in college.

From community colleges to Division I programs, high school athletes are joining the ranks.

Here's a quick rundown of local athletes signing on with colleges:

• Katie Newbury and Sammie Hildreth signed to play softball with Iowa Central.
• Kale Singleton signed with Grand View University to play baseball.
• Tyler Morrissey and Deavon Richards signed to play football at Iowa Western Community College.
• Andre McKay and Marcus McKay signed to play football at Grand View University.
