Johnston Student Council Hosts Blood Drive Today - And More Around Johnston

There's plenty happening around Johnston today, what do you have planned?

College Recruiting Seminar
An informational seminar on college recruiting will take place at 4 p.m. at . The seminar, conducted by recruiting expert Dave Carl, will help parents have a better understanding of the recruiting process of college athletics and what the parent, student-athlete and coach's role is in the process. The seminar is open and free to both students and parents in ninth to 12th grade.

Spring Blood Drive
The Johnston High School presents the spring blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the high school gym foyer. Donors must weigh 120-pounds and be at least 16 years old to give blood. First-time donors under the age of 18 must have a signed parent waiver. Students can sign up to donate in Room 202, walk-ins are also accepted.

Wizard of Oz at JHS
Tickets go on sale today for the Wizard of Oz performance at . Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the JHS Accounting Office from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22.

Need a Tux for Prom? Help After Prom at the same time!
The Bridal Boutique, 412 E. Sixth St. in Des Moines, will donate $25 to the for any tux rental between now and the April 14 Johnston High School prom. Bridal Boutique is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
