Johnston Teens Perform at State Fair Talent Contest: Fair Results Aug. 12

Johnston residents took to the Anne and Bill Riley Stage over the weekend to compete in the annual talent show.

Grant Granzer, 15, of Johnston, performed a guitar and vocal solo in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 11. Granzer's performance qualified him for the semi-final round of the Bill Riley Talent Search. 

Johnston resident Laura Smalley, 18, performed a vocal solo in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 11.

Marcus Miller, 16, of Johnston, performed a fiddle solo in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 10.

Food Contests

Phoelisa McGuire of Johnston won first place in Bud Elwell's Old Fashion Fudge competition judged Thursday at the 2013 Iowa State Fair.
