Here's what WHO Channel 13 in Des Moines has to say about the forecast:
Expect more rain today with a chance of isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Northern Iowa could see over an inch of rain by early Tuesday, with Des Moines around a half of an inch. Today winds will increase throughout the afternoon and then make a shift from South to North.
Colder air will work into Central Iowa tonight, changing the rain to snow over NW Iowa, where some minor accumulations are possible. Even in Des Moines on Tuesday morning, snow could mix in with any lingering rain. Tuesday afternoon will be dry with sun returning to the state. The rest of the 7 day forecast will stay mainly dry, however, there are slim rain chances Wednesday and again Friday.
The good news? Spring might show up this weekend.
By Friday, temps in central Iowa will reach the mid-60s, accompanied by mostly sunny skies. Weather Underground says is expected to last through next Wednesday.
But will it be here to stay? Let's hope so.
