Johnston Council to Discuss Changes to Urban Bow-Hunting Rules, Redevelopment Plan for Merle Hay Road

The Johnston City Council discusses possible changes to the urban bow hunt and the process for approving deer hunting on private property at a work session tonight.

The council has a full agenda for the 6 p.m. work session.

Items of discussion include:

• a report on status of goals established at the 2012 goal-setting session
• discuss initiating a redevelopment plan for the Merle Hay Road gateway area
• discuss development of a homeowner grant program, funded by the stormwater utility to encourage and help pay for the installation of stormwater best practices
• discuss a potential multi-family residential development within Windsor Park Subdivision

The work session will be immediately followed by a regular meeting.

The regular meeting includes a public hearing to adopt plans, specifications regarding the public safety building.

A second public hearing will be held regarding the Northwest 64th Place improvements project.

The council meets at for both meetings.
