Hosts of the fundraiser are the members of the Friends of the Johnston Public Library. This group supports the efforts of the library both through word-of-mouth marketing and financial support for “extras” that the library would not otherwise be able to provide.

Proceeds from last year’s Art in the Barn enabled the purchase of the After School Edge computer for the children’s area.

According to Willona Goers, Library Director, “This computer station offers more than 50 educational games for school age youth, and it is in use by students nearly all the time. We are so grateful to the Friends for purchasing this for our library.”

Lisa Cooper, Art in the Barn chairperson for the Friends group, is excited to build on the prior year’s success.

“People had a great time last year.  The art, music, food, and atmosphere all came together to make a very unique event.  We’re looking forward to offering another opportunity to mingle with friends, while supporting a great cause.”

Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased in advance at the Johnston Public Library.

If you are interested in learning more about the Friends group, go to the Library’s website at www.johnstonlibrary.com for the membership details.
