Senior Activities
The Johnston Senior Center at Crown Point Community Center hosts scrapbooking from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and bingo at 1 p.m.
Movie Casting
The 2013 film "Murder Incorporated" will be casting for 110 characters in Grimes today. Roles range from bit parts to lead roles. The first casting call will be held from noon to 8 p.m. that day at the Grimes Community Center, 410 S. Main St., Grimes. An audition after-party, which is open to the public, will be held at Wellman's Pub, 2920 Ingersoll Ave., from 8 p.m. to closing.
Johnston PD Warning
The Johnston Police Department released an e-alert warning parents of a possible abduction attempts on Monday, Oct. 22. A truck stopped in front of a residence in the 10000 block of Windsor Parkway, a man in the truck tried to make contact with a 10-year-old juvenile playing in the yard. The truck drove away after the boy ran inside. Find more details here.
