Residents must purchase a CompostIt sticker and attach it to the tree, which should be placed on the curb. Other yard waste must be placed in CompostIt yard waste bags, or have the sticker attached.
You can buy stickers for $1.15 each at Johnston City Hall, plus the local Hy-Vee and Dahl's grocery stores.
Make sure that all decorations have been removed from the tree before placing it at the curb. No bags will be allowed over trees.
