Pioneer Plans $50 Million Expansion in Johnston Office, Lab, Greenhouse Space
The project will be considered for state tax credits on Friday.

State tax credits could be awarded Friday for DuPont Pioneer to invest $50.4 million in new office, lab and greenhouse space in Johnston, the Des Moines Register reports.
The seed company is one of three projects the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board will consider awarding tax credits to Friday.
Pioneer proposes investing $13 million in construction and equipment, and $9.4 million to lease space. An estimated $28 million will be spent on research and development, the newspaper said.

Local economic development leaders say the newest project should create 100 new jobs that pay an average of $87,693 annually.
Pioneer plans to lease 180,000 square feet of new office and lab space and build 39,000 square feet of greenhouse space.
