Although Johnston Patch launched only a few months ago, we've been able to bring several photos to the community.

From football games to community events, Johnston Patch hopes to continue covering everything that's important to you in the year ahead.

As we close out 2011, we've gone back and looked at a few of our favorite images. So, which photo is your favorite?

"Dancing to Art"

The Friends of presented in September. The event raised $3,700 for resources to the children's section of the library.

"Football Final"
Johnston defense recovers an Urbandale fumble during the Urbandale vs Johnston playoff game held at Urbandale Wednesday night. 23/15 Urbandale Final.

The Johnston Dragons with a loss in a playoff game against the neighboring Urbandale J-Hawks. The Dragons lost 23-15. They finished out the season with a 4-6 record.

"Alexis' the Boss"
Meet Alexis, the Johnston Fire Department dog. Tristan Johnson spent time playing with Alexis one morning at the fire station.

The is home to , an energetic and lovable rescue. The Department rescued Alexis after she was hit nearly two years ago. Today, Alexis lives the good life showing off stop, drop and roll for visiting students and ruling the rooms at the Johnston Fire Department.Β 

"Holidays in Johnston"

Several Johnston organizations and businesses teamed together to celebrate at the Johnston Public Library Dec. 3. The afternoon included a visit from Santa Claus, crafts and storytime.

"Regatta Races"
Sharri Walling and Steve Price react after a boat capsized during the sixth-grade Regatta Races.

sixth-graders competed in to close out an unit on Egypt. The students built boats out of cardboard, garbage bags and duct tape. One student had to sit in the boat while teammates pushed them to the end of the Summit pool and back.
