Runaway Teen Suspected of Stealing a Car, Crashing It: Johnston Police Reports

Police were called to LaJames College, 8805 Chambery Blvd., on a report of a 36-year-old student who was being disruptive. The woman left before officers arrived, so she was warned of trespassing and no charges were filed.

Officials with Youth Homes of MidAmerica,Β 7085 N.W. Beaver Drive, reported a runaway. In a related case, a resident in the 6000 block of NorthwestΒ 59th CourtΒ reported his vehicle was stolen from a parking area. The Des Moines Police Department later contacted Johnston police to let them know of an accident involving the stolen vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the 16-year-old boy who ran away from Youth Homes of Mid America.
