Runaways Charged With Causing Damage, Stealing Purse from Three Johnston Businesses

Three male juvenile runaways from Youth Homes of Mid America allegedly went on a vandalism spree Oct. 8.Β
Officials at Bishop Drumm, 5837 Winwood Drive, reported someone had removed a window screen, opened the window and taken a purse from the nurses station.

A 15-year-old boy from Youth Homes of Mid America was charged with the burglary.
Later the same day, employees with Created in Johnston, 6330 Merle Hay Road, reported damage to 32 statues, a storage building with two broken windows and a TV. The estimated loss is $5,050.Β
The 13-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old boys who ran away from Youth Homes of Mid America were located and charged in connection with the damage.
The same 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were charged with criminal mischief after damage was done to Maurices.

Employees of Maurices, 6600 Merle Hay Road, reported someone had entered their property and taken a fire extinguisher from a truck and sprayed the interior of the truck. The estimated damage is $130.
