The Artist:

John
Sepanic says:  My interest in photography
goes as far back as my dad’s 35 mm Pentax and my mom’s Polaroid. As a child I
was captivated by Stephen King’s Christine.  It’s impossible to
look at a decaying old car and not think of it.  There is the beauty of
rust and decay, along with life and stories in the inanimate.  I have always watched horror movies, or
‘spook shows’, as my dad would call them.  I also went to Catholic school,
and they were never shy about warning us that evil is real and waiting if you
slip up.  As a result, I have a bit of a darker view on many things in life.
I learned at a young age there is more to the world than what lies on the
surface.  I like to let the darkness shine through.  I try and create
visually, that moment between fight and flight, to explore the “other”, the
great unknown.  The moment when you feel you should take some action but
instead you stay to watch and see what the story is – what lies in the shadows.
