Second Johnston Subway Burglarized in Two Months
The Johnston Police Department responded to an alarm sounding at the Subway on 86th Street.

At about 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers reported to an alarm sounding at the new Subway store at 6110 N.W. 86th St.
According to a police report, officers saw a pane of glass on the front of the store shattered by a blunt object.

Officers did not find anyone at the location, but the cash register had been opened and $100 was missing.
Damage to the window was estimated to be $500.

According to KCCI News Channel 8, a Subway store at 1423 Grand Ave. in Des Moines was recently broken into.
Des Moines police found several of the front windows broken and pry marks around the safe located under the store counter, KCCI reported. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
In May, the Johnston Subway store at 5500 Merle Hay Road was broken into and $581 reported missing.
