Student Arrested for Reportedly Vandalizing Johnston High School Gym: Police Reports

May 18
A resident in the 6300 block of Northwest 51st Street reported someone tried to pry the tailgate door to her vehicle open. Damage was estimated at $500.

An officer was sent to QuikTrip convenience store, 5169 Merle Hay Road, on a report of an abandoned truck with a hot tub in the back. Police talked with the truck’s owner, who said he didn’t know the vehicle was missing from his business. The truck and hot tub were reported stolen from Des Moines.

May 20
A male student at Johnston High School, 6501 N.W. 62nd Ave., was charged with trespass and criminal mischief for allegedly vandalizing the school gym with newspaper and toilet paper.

A male student at Johnston High School, 6501 N.W. 62nd Ave., was charged with assault for allegedly pushing a teacher during class.

Matthew Wayne Webb, 18, of 401 N.E. Oak Drive, Ankeny, was arrested at 5525 Merle Hay Road on an outstanding warrant and for interference for providing false information to a police officer.
