Summer Concert Series Starts Thursday at Camp Dodge

The Tony Valdez Large Band kicks off the free public Adjutant General's Concert Series, which runs on Thursdays through June 27.

The Tony Valdez Large Band will perform Thursday in the first week of the Adjutant General's Summer Concert Series at the historic Camp Dodge pool complex, 7105 N.W. 70th Ave. in Johnston.

Adjutant General of Iowa, Maj. Gen. Tim Orr, said the public is invited to attend.

The concert series, which is free and open to the public, consists of four concerts on successive Thursdays, beginning May 30 and ending June 27.

Concerts start at 7 p.m. Please bring your lawn chairs.

Concessions from local vendors will be available and coolers and picnic baskets are also welcome.

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be rescheduled, if possible.

Visitors should enter Camp Dodge through the Northwest 70th Avenue gate. Photo identification (a driver's license is acceptable) is required for admittance to Camp Dodge for individuals 16 years of age and older.
