Sun Shines on Johnston's Green Days Parade

The weather cooperated for Johnston's Green Days parade Saturday. The parade included bands, business mascots, athletic groups, business entires and so much more.

Rain might have drowned out some of the early evening actives Friday and Saturday, but there was nothing but sunshine Saturday morning for the two-hour Johnston Green Days parade.

Hundreds of people lined Pioneer Parkway to watch the parade. Children scampered about picking up candy and filling bags with the sweets.

While many of the people in the parade threw candy, others gave out small footballs, soccer balls, water and even ice scrapers. The Johnston High School Class of 1982 sprayed the crowd with water as they passed by.
