Tea and History with Award-Winning Writer

Sometimes the greatest stories of bravery and sacrifice are hidden from the history books. Sometimes these stories must be told.

Join us for scones, tea, and history with award-winning novelist, Elaine Marie Cooper on Sunday, October 27th at 3:00pm at the Simpson Barn. Elaine will be here to discuss her latest historical fiction novel, Fields of the Fatherless, which is based on true events.  The novel is set in the early months of 1775, when war is brewing in the American colonies. During her visit, Cooper will discuss the historical research she did for her new book, as well as do a short reading and answer questions from the audience.

Elaine Cooper’s previous books include The Road to Deer Run, The Promise of Deer Run and The Legacy of Deer Run. Cooper currently resides in the Des Moines area, but grew up in Massachusetts, the setting for many of her novels. Elaine says she is passionate about her family, her faith, and the history of the American Revolution, which is a frequent subject of her historical fiction.
