While our area was pummeled with rain and severe weather Sunday night, we could see more as early as Monday afternoon.

Here's a peek at what the first few days of the week will look like weatherwise, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Breezy, with a south southwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Monday night, there's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 75. West southwest wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. West wind 6 to 11 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday and Friday, expect high temps in the upper 60s to lower 70s, accompanied by partly cloudy skies. 

Here's what WHO Channel 13 has to say about today's forecast:

Clouds will linger and another round of storms is possible Monday afternoon and evening.  Key times will be after 3 PM and before 9 PM in Eastern Iowa. These storms look to be less intense with the severe potential not as high as last night. Temperatures will reach 80 degrees. 

By this weekend, temperatures will remain steady but we could see sporadic showers and thunderstorms starting Friday and extending into Sunday.
