What's Open, What's Closed in Johnston Memorial Day Weekend

Not sure how you're planning to celebrate Memorial Day weekend?

Johnston Patch has you covered with this little guide to what's open, what's closed and what special events you might attend.

The will close at 8 p.m. Saturday and not reopen until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

But if you happen to be near the library on Monday morning, stop by the new dedication in Johnston Commons. The 10 a.m. dedication is complete with 21-gun salute, wreath laying and special guest speakers.

The museum will host an open house from 5 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday. A complimentary breakfast will be served from 6 to 9 a.m. while supplies last.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority will not operate buses Monday in observance of the holiday.

Don't worry about putting your trash on the curb if you have Monday pick-up, one day in order to observe the holiday.
