Still getting used to the end of Daylight Saving Time?

With the sun setting earlier and earlier, you have less time each night to enjoy time outside after work or school.

• Johnston Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast: The Johnston Kiwanis Club is holding a Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Wallace Elementary School, 6510 62^nd Ave. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Kids under 5 eat free. Proceeds from this event will help fund scholarships for Johnston High School seniors, dictionaries for all Johnston third-graders, and the Kiwanis Miracle League. 

• 1st Annual Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K: The race starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Johnston High School, 6501 N.W. 62nd Ave. The entry fee is $25; pre-registration is due by Tuesday. Make checks payable to Johnston Running Club. Race day registration is available but a T-shirt is not guaranteed. Proceeds will benefit Johnston recreational trails. Mail form and entry fee to: Johnston Running Club, 9804 Newport Vista Drive, Johnston, IA 50131.

• Prairie Trail Elementary Vendor Fair: Stop in for a fun shopping day and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Prairie Trail Elementary School lunchroom.
