When and Where to Vote in Johnston Today, Plus Sample Ballot

Johnston residents will hit the polls today for the fourth time this year.

While previous votes were strictly on a local level, there's much more at stake today - the presidency and a number of congressional districts, as well as, local represntatives for House District 39.

When do I vote?

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.

Where is my polling location?

Voters are assigned a specific polling location depending on the precinct in which they are registered to vote. If you’re not sure of your polling location, click here to find out. Here is a complete list of polling locations in Johnston:

• Johnston 1 and 2: Johnston City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Road
• Johnston 3: Crown Point Center, 6300 Pioneer Parkway
• Johnston 4 and 5: Johnston Evangelical Free Church, 9901 N.W. 62nd Ave.
• Johnston 6: Johnston Public Library, 6700 Merle Hay Road
• Jefferson 1: Jester Park Lodge, 11407 N.W. Jester Park Drive
• Urbandale 4: Urban Heights Covenant Church, 7605 Aurora Ave.

Is it too late to register to vote?

No. Potential voters can register at their precinct the day of the election.

What do I need to bring to register?

To register at the polls today, voters will need to provide either photo identification with their current address or one of the following documents: a government issued check or document, a residential lease, property tax statement, utility bill, bank statement or a paycheck.
