911 Service Out in Marion, Cedar Rapids
Authorities said it appears 911 calls made on cell phones from around the state are all going to Des Moines. Check back for updates.

Emergency 911 service is out in Cedar Rapids and Marion, according to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's office.
The release says the outage is affecting all agencies across Iowa and 911 calls from around the state are ringing into the Iowa State Patrol headquarters in Des Moines.
When Patch checked with Westcom dispatch in West Des Moines, supervisors there said that center -- which serves West Des Moines, Clive and Urbandale -- was operating normally.

Authorities have no idea how long it will take to fix the problem, the release said.
Residents of Linn County -- excluding Marion and Cedar Rapids -- who are unable to reach the sheriff's office via 911 in an emergency should call (319) 398-3911 during the outage.

Cedar Rapids residents who can't reach the Join Communications Center via 911 for emergencies should call (319) 286-5491.
Marion residents who can't reach the city via 911 should call the Marion Police Department at (319) 377-1511 until service is restored.
