After Colorado Theater Shooting, Show Goes On at Galaxy 16 in Cedar Rapids

The Cedar Rapids Galaxy 16 Cine has not changed the line up of showtimes today for the new Batman film The Dark Night Rises, which is opening today around the country. This comes the morning after a Colorado shooting at a Dark Night premier.

Marion residents planning to see the new Batman blockbuster, The Dark Night Rises, will still have that option today, the morning after a tragedy in Colorado left 12 people dead.

Our closest venue showing the film is Cedar Rapids Galaxy 16 Cine. The theater is not changing its slate of Dark Night show times, which run roughly every half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 11:35 p.m. This is the opening day for the highly anticipated movie.

Some theaters around the country are stepping up security for the film today, but a staffer at the Cedar Rapids theater, who declined to give her name, said they were not changing any plans.
