(Blog) Why You Need a Carbon Monoxide Detector: Keeping it Real (Estate) with Deanna
Make sure your home has a carbon monoxide detector

While it’s uncommon to see a home without a smoke alarm, there are several that do not have a carbon monoxide detector, especially older homes. Gas heaters, furnaces, and generators can put your family at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports than more than 15,000 people are treated in emergency rooms each year from non-fire related carbon monoxide exposure.
It is highly recommended to install a battery operated carbon monoxide detector as well as to have heating systems serviced each year by a qualified technician. Among the symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure are: headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, shortness of breath, and light-headness.
