Susan says: It's finally safe!

Meet Susan. She's one of Culver's horticulturists and resident plant health expert. For solutions to all your plant concerns, stop in to the garden center and talk to her. She has extensive knowledge and experience of gardening, plant species, lawncare, and landscaping (we'd love to see you try and stump Susan)! Check in every Tuesday for her tip of the week. Also be sure to try out Culver's new self-service Solutions Center, located in the gift shop, complete with touch screen navigation to diagnose your plant problems on the spot.

It's been an uncommonly warm spring and Iowa weather can be so unpredicatable. Have you hesitated in planting your fruits, veggies and other tender plants outside this year? Fear no more, the date gardeners count down to every spring has arrived! May 15th: the official last frost date. It's safe to plant those tomatoes, melons and peppers!

Why not design your porch as a stage for summer? It's also time to try tropicals on trellises, in hanging baskets, and containers. Looking particularly beautiful in Culver's greenhouse today: Mandevillas, Bougainvilleas, Hibiscus Trees, Palm Trees, and Anthuriums.
