Curbside yard waste will be collected from Marion residents until the last full week of November unless an accumulating snowfall occurs before that date. Residents must place their yard waste in a 32 gallon can marked with a “Y” or a biodegradable bag. Grass clippings must be placed in a biodegradable bag. Sticks, limbs and brush, larger than 1 inch in diameter and no greater than 4 inches in diameter, must be bundled at the curb. Bundles should not measure more than 3 feet in length or width.

Marion residents who receive municipal solid waste collection can utilize the Yard Waste Drop-off Facility located at 195 35th Street. Yard waste items such as leaves, grass clippings and brush less than 4 inches in diameter are accepted at the facility free of charge. The facility is open year-round and its hours are as follows: Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3:15 p.m.; Tuesday 7 a.m.-5:45 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Through the month of November, the facility will be open from noon-4 p.m. on Sundays.
