Opening reception of "More than Any: Iowa in the American Civil War" exhibit, a compilation of more than 300 photos, documents, and artifacts telling the story of the Generals, Medal of Honor recipients, and Naval Admirals from Iowa.
David V. Wendell, exhibit curator, will deliver the keynote address at 5:30. Mayor Allen Bouska will deliver a Proclamation declaring March 8 as Civil War Day in Marion, a rememberance service by the 24th Iowa Civil War Re-enactment Regiment, TAPS performed by the Marion American Legion Post #298 and the reading of the Gettysburg address are also scheduled.
Opening event is free to the public.
