As part of efforts to help combat the obesity epidemic in our community, The Healthy Living Coalition is sponsoring community viewings of the HBO documentary THE WEIGHT OF THE NATION. Three years in the making, this documentary examines the facts and myths of this urgent public health issue, and how our community can start taking steps to turn this epidemic around. The Healthy Living Coalition hopes to educate, motivate and support our community in the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
A comprehensive question and answer discussion will be held after each viewing featuring a professional whose background aligns with the scope of each film. Please join us for the following viewings and discussions:
- Children in Crisis on February 18th from 6:00-7:30pm at Linn Mar High School Auditorium with speaker Sharon Collins, MD, FAAP.
- Challenges on March 5th from 6:00-7:30pm at Mercy Medical Center at the Hallagan Education Center with speaker Beverly Freeman, Clinical Health Coach, RN.
