Nativity Celebration - A Community Nativity Exhibit and Music Program

Performances by more than 20 local musical groups will add to a festive atmosphere where visitors can browse the display area featuring more than 740 Nativities from around the world, enjoy light refreshments, and let their children dress up in Nativity clothing.  A treasured part of Cedar Rapids history will be on display; the nearly life-size 12 piece nativity scene that graced the windows of Armstong's Department Store and later of Smulekoff's Furniture have been restored to pristine condition. The Carillonneurs of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Linn Mar High School Orchestra, Cedar Sounds Chorus of Sweet Adelines, Rockwell Collins Brass Ensemble, Kennedy High School Choral Ensemble, Linn Mar High School Choir are just a few groups scheduled to delight visitors.  For a complete list of performances, please visit our website crnativity.org.  Hours for the event are Friday 11am-9pm and Saturday 11am-7pm.  Admission is free and open to the public.  Visitors are urged to bring a non-perishable food item for local food banks.
