Winter Storm Rocky 2013: Georgia Man Sent to Hospital Following Semi Crash in Linn County

Linn County Sheriff's are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

A Georgia man was sent to the hospital after he lost control of the semi-tractor trailer he was driving on Tuesday afternoon.

Raymond L. Howard, 31, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, was sent to St. Luke's Hospital with what authorities believe are non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from Linn County Sheriff's Office.

The crash is believed to be due to weather condition from winter storm Rocky.

Howard was headed northbound on Interstate 380 when the crash occurred near mile marker 38 at about 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday. He lost control and went into the ditch causing the vehicle to roll onto its side, according to the news release.

Howard was stuck in his vehicle when authorities arrived.

Responders included Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue 57, Center Point Fire Department and Center Point Ambulance Service responded.

The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s
Office.
