Musco Sports Center Wins 2026 Iowa People's All-Star Community Award (voiceofmuscatine.com) — Muscatine's Musco Sports Center has been voted the 2026 Iowa People's All-Star Community Award winner, giving the city a new statewide distinction. The 122,000‑square‑foot inflatable complex offers year‑round space for youth sports, tournaments, and community events, and city leaders say it marks a major investment in local recreation and quality of life.
2. Muscatine Fire Department will host public-safety open house (ourquadcities.com) — Muscatine residents are invited to a free Public Safety Open House on Sunday, Oct. 4, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Public Safety Building on East 5th Street. Families can tour the station, meet firefighters, explore equipment, and let kids try hands-on safety activities tied to Fire Prevention Week's lithium-ion battery theme.

Muscatine residents sought for boards, commissions (ourquadcities.com) — Muscatine residents are being invited to help shape the city's future by applying for open seats on key boards and commissions, including Planning & Zoning, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Historic Preservation. Applications are due by Friday, Oct. 30, and will be reviewed by a nominating committee before final appointments by the city council.
4. Muscatine Co. Sheriff looking for 3 people in connection to scrap metal theft (kwqc.com) — Muscatine County deputies are asking local residents to help identify three people linked to a scrap metal theft at a Nichols business early Sunday morning. Investigators describe an early-2000s Chevy Silverado with a toolbox and homemade utility trailer, and urge anyone with tips to call the sheriff's office or use its app.
5. Muscatine County sees lowest price for regular gas at $4.17 in week ending Sept. 19 (riverbendtimes.com) — Drivers in Muscatine County saw regular gas as low as $4.17 per gallon at nine stations during the week ending Sept. 19, with the county average at $4.34. Local prices slightly exceeded Iowa's statewide average of $4.27, reflecting broader national cost increases tied to refinery outages and global oil market disruptions.
