• Officer Logan Nord Honored as SRO of the Year (ottumwaradio.com) — Oskaloosa students and families are being served by one of Iowa's best, as Officer Logan Nord has been named the state's School Resource Officer of the Year. After four years with Oskaloosa Schools, he's being honored for programs like Lunch Bunch, Cops for Kind Kids, and DARE, and was recently recognized by the school board and Oskaloosa Police Department.
• Police: Ottumwa Man Punched Ex-Girlfriend Through Door, Shattering Glass (ottumwaradio.com) — An alleged assault at a home on South B Street in Oskaloosa led to the arrest of a 55-year-old Ottumwa man, who now faces burglary, assault, and criminal mischief charges. Police say he broke a door window during a dispute with his ex-girlfriend, injuring her before fleeing. He's out on bond and due in court September 25, with a no-contact order in place.
