• Cities around Iowa ditch Flock cameras amid growing privacy concerns (wvik.org) — Urbandale leaders have tightened their contract with Flock Safety so police data from local license plate cameras can't be shared with any third party, including federal agencies, without written consent. As other Iowa cities suspend or cancel Flock over privacy and immigration-enforcement worries, Urbandale's police chief says the system remains vital for crime-fighting but now has added safeguards. Residents concerned about surveillance and data use may want to follow these changes closely.
