Nice to Meet You, Pardon the Dog Hair
Meet one of Urbandale Patch's new bloggers: the dog girl. Learn about what makes her tick and share your story and questions about your pet(s).
Everyone knows the line about trying to be the person your dog thinks you are, right? I think it has some real merit and when I remember to look down at the three pairs of eyes who adore my every move I swear I’m a better person.
I’m sure that sounds silly to some people but you have to understand — I’m that kind of girl. The “dog girl.” The girl who always has dog hair on her shirt and usually a treat in her pocket. The girl who will go to a party and end up on the floor snuggling the hostess’ dog.
I actually love all animals. I used to have a hedgehog and beg my parents for llamas and miniature donkeys; I’m allergic to cats, birds and horses or I’d probably have more animals at my house!

It really should be no surprise that my full-time job is promoting NatraTurf’s pet-safe lawn and garden products. And in my spare time I’m The Pet Project Midwest’s marketing director and vice president for the board of directors. I’ve also recently started volunteering at AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and I love bouncing ideas around with staff at Raccoon Valley Animal Sanctuary and Iowa Voters for Companion Animals and chatting with other animal-adoring folks.
What kind of pets do you have? What questions might you have? I’m no expert but I’d love to chat with you about the furry or feathered companion that makes you a better person.
