Please stop kissing my feet!
Having a foster dog reminds me of how little many animals have. Adopt a pet who needs a family and be prepared for a lifetime of adoration!

My husband and I are currently foster parents to a sweet heeler mix named Maggie. Maggie was a pregnant stray taken in by AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and given a new lease on life. We're teaching her how to be part of a family and looking for a furr-ever home for her.
Having Maggie here constantly reminds me how lucky so many pets are to be part of a family while others have so little and are so mistreated.
Miss Maggie has been eating like a horse — I believe she's so unused to knowing where her next meal comes from that she gobbles up any food she can find including the bowls of food for my three MUCH-larger dogs.

She also follows me around adoringly. When I stop moving she wants to offer kisses and snuggles her face into me. She would actually like to sit under my computer chair and kiss my feet all day while I work. I keep trying to show her I do not require constant adoration and she can instead play with toys, take a snooze or watch the squirrels through the window! Everytime I arrange her on the couch with toys she'll play for a bit then run back over to me to give kisses again.
There are so many pets in local shelters and rescue groups hoping to have a family someday. If you give them food & water, a comfy place to sleep, exercise and some toys they'll repay you with eternal gratitude and adoration (and probably LOTS of kisses!)
