Thankfulness and sharing
Pets give us so much. As you give thanks for their love, please consider helping others!

I love Thanksgiving and the whole surrounding season of gratitude. Since this is the dog blog I'll focus on them, but please know I'm extremely grateful for ALL the blessings in my life!
As I sit here working from home, wrapped in a snuggly blanket, my four furry babies (yep, I s!) are snuggled up on the couch behind me. They played their little tails off this weekend, their bellies are full and they are snoozin' away. The scene makes me smile not only because they're adorable but also because they are such a lovely and important part of my husband's and my life. No matter how peeved or exhausted I am, my dogs can make me smile. They shower me with adoration, make me laugh and just generally assume life should always be happy.

I love working from home and getting to see more of their interactions with each other too — they are as much siblings as my brothers and sisters are. They play, nap together, fight over toys, take care of each other when under the weather and get sad when separated. They are just 100% selfless to each other and to us—they'd give me every toy and bone they own if they thought I wanted them! I can't imagine parting with a single one of them.
The world would be a much kinder place if people were as sharing and loving as dogs are. If you want to help your fellow man (or woman) this holiday season, please consider adopting a family through The Pet Project Midwest. By choosing a local family and providing them with food and supplies for a month or two or three, you'll be assisting them in keeping their furry companions who give so much love. And that's as good for the people as for their pets.
