Burglar Knocks Homeowner Unconscious: Urbandale Police Blotter

Urbandale Police say a would-be burglar struck a homeowner in the head, knocking the resident out as they opened a door.

The Urbandale police reports below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions. 

Sept. 21

Officials with the Urbandale Parks Department reported damage was done to a women's restroom at Lions Park, 4101 72nd St. Police said vandals scratched words into a restroom door. Damage is estimated at less than $200.

Sept. 22

A customer at Budget Storage, 9821 Douglas Ave., reported a burglary from the facility. The lock was cut to enter the unit. The estimated value of the items taken was $1,604.

Sept. 23

A burglary was reported to a house in the 7300 block of Palm Drive. The suspect entered through a side door and the homeowner was knocked unconscious with a blunt object. Nothing was listed as missing from the house.
