Des Moines Christian School had two top finishing teams in the Nov. 1 Knowledge Bowl competition at Merle Hay Mall.

Juniors Daniel Hawley of West Des Moines, Courtney Zonnefeld of Urbandale, Albert Gustafson of Urbandale, and Ian Troll of Grimes won the competition.
A team composed of seniors Micah Veldkamp of Cumming, Cody Carlson of Grimes, Merci McDaniels of Urbandale, TAG teacher Paige Thiner, Travis Manderfield of Urbandale, and Josh Rowley of Urbandale placed third in the bowl.

State Cheer Champs
The Des Moines Christian cheerleaders won the Class 2A State Cheer Competition held Nov. 3.
Members and coaches are: Lauren Dexter of Urbandale, Holly Peterson of Des Moines, Kylee Thiner of Polk City, Katie Hansen of Grimes, Elaina Elam of Waukee, Lauren Skinner of Johnston, Abby Manderfield of Urbandale, Tori Hildreth of Urbandale, Mady Crook of Urbandale, Courtney Thiner of Polk City, Lauren Rowley of Urbandale, Sara Juhl of Clive, Addy Sammons of Urbandale, Coach Molly Eklund, and Coach Kimberly Kolling.
