Des Moines Christian Plays Wednesday for Spot in State Volleyball Tournament
The Lions defeated Nodaway Valley on Friday and take to the court again Wednesday.
The girls Class 2A regional semifinal volleyball match was played at Des Moines Christian School Friday night, with the host Lions defeating Nodaway Valley 3-0, according to a news release.
After falling behind early in set one, Des Moines Christian rallied for a 25-17 win.
The Lions came out very focused for sets two and three and dominated both, the release said, winning 25-16, 25-14.

Leading the way for the Lions was senior Kylee Thiner with 14 kills; sophomore Brynn Reichardt added 8 more.
Other offensive contributors were seniors Linnea Stephens with 35 assists and Mikayla Reding with 3 ace serves. Defending the back row was senior Olivia Rasmussen with 22 digs.

With the win, the Lions improve their mark to 27-6 and now face Treynor on Wednesday for a berth in the volleyball state tournament.
