Help Urbandale Kids in Need Buy Christmas Presents for their Families
Urbandale police, the Urbandale Food Pantry and Target are teaming up to hold Shop With a Cop on Dec. 11. You can contribute to the cause.

Urbandale residents can help kids in need shop for their families, providing Christmas presents to their loved ones.
The Urbandale Police and Protective Benevolent Association and Target have teamed up to hold the Shop with a Cop program, according to a news release from the police department. On Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., uniformed Urbandale police officers will shop with kids in need at the Urbandale SuperTarget, 11148 Plum Drive. Each child will be given a gift card and will be teamed up with a uniformed officer.
After the child is done shopping, Target will have an area where the kids can wrap the gifts for their loved ones and enjoy cookies and juice.

The Urbandale Police Department and the Urbandale Food Pantry are teaming up to accept any monetary donations to help serve more children within this program, the release said. Checks can be mailed to the Urbandale Food Pantry and specify “Shop with a Cop” on the memo line.
