How Should Urbandale Handle Pool Repair?
The Urbandale City Council heard four options when it came to repairs for the city's indoor public pool.

The Urbandale City Council still has decisions to make when it comes to the city's public pool.
On Tuesday, the council heard four options regarding repairs at a lunch and learn work session, according to a report by the Des Moines Register.

- replastering the entire pool for about $66,000
- partial replaser of the pool for about $35,000
- replacing the damaged liner for about $44,000
- demolition of the pool and building for about $150,000
The demolition costs would be shared with the city financing 60 percent and the school district financing 40 percent, according to the Register.
According to a city update, no final decision has been made, but further discussion will occur at the Oct. 30 council meeting.

The pool first closed on Aug. 27 for annual maintenance and to address the falling liner.
The liner, which was replaced three years ago, may have deteriorated because of chemicals used in the pool.
