Iowa State Fair Park & Ride at Southeast Polk to open late on August 18
Shuttle service will begin at 9:30 p.m. Riders also encouraged to use downtown boarding lots.
The Iowa State Fair Park & Ride at Southeast Polk High School will open to Iowa State Fair goers at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August, 18, instead of 8:30 a.m. due to another event occurring at the high school from 7 to 9 a.m. In addition, the Southeast Polk lot has been at or near capacity nearly every day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People going to the Fair Thursday before 9:30 a.m. or any day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. are encouraged to use the Park & Ride locations at the Iowa State Capitol or Center Street.

· State Capitol – Parking available at State Capitol visitor lots during the week and all lots on the weekend. Bus picks up on East 12th Street, directly east of the Capitol building. Drops off at Gate 10 of the fairgrounds. Click here to view a map of the parking lots.
· Center Street – Enter the Center Street parking garage from 7th Street. Bus picks up at the corner of 6th Avenue and Center Street and drops off at Gate 10 at the fairgrounds.

· Southeast Polk – Parking available in high school parking lots. Bus picks up at main door of high school and drops off at Gate 8 at the fairgrounds.
Attendees of the Iowa State Fair can park for free at any of the above locations and ride DART to the fairgrounds. Except for the delayed start at Southeast Polk on August 18, buses run every day from 8:30 a.m. to midnight from each location every day during the Iowa State Fair.
DART round-trip fares are cash only, day of ride:
· $2 adults (Ages 11+)
· $1 children ages 6-10, elderly (65+), Medicare card holders and people with disabilities (Half-Fare)
· Children 5 and younger are free
Riders who show their Iowa State Fair advance admission ticket at Park & Ride locations can ride DART for half off the round-trip fare. One-way fares are available upon request.
