J-Hawks Fall to Dragons After Two Overtimes in State Playoffs

The J-Hawks football season came to a shocking end Wednesday night.

It was a nail-biter to the very end in Johnston Wednesday night, as the J-Hawks fell to the Dragons after two overtimes.

The Urbandale J-Hawks (7-3) faced arch-rival the Johnston High School Dragons (6-4) the first round of state football playoffs.

After two overtimes, the Dragons came up with a final touchdown to beat the J-Hawks, 58-55.

To start the second overtime, the J-Hawks scored a field goal moving the score to 55-52.

But Johnston was quick to answer with Marcus Montgomery scoring from 10 yards out to end the game.

The Dragons (6-4) will next face the Valley Tigers on Monday evening.
