Johnston School District Voters Can Learn About $51 Million Bond Issue Tonight
Johnston school district voters can ask questions about a Sept. 11 bond referendum at public forums.

The Johnston school district hosts a public meeting on the upcoming bond referendum at 7 tonight at .
The forum -- the second of fourth planned to answer voters' questions before the Sept. 11 special election -- will include information and discussion of the referendum for the proposed new high school and other facility improvements in the district.
The special election will ask voters if they would approve $51 million in bonds to build and furnish a new 10th- to 12th-grade high school.

Superintendent Clay Guthmiller will be on hand at the forums to present information and answer questions about:
- Recommendations from the district facilities committee's 18-month study
- Detailed information about the proposed projects and the effect on property taxes
- How the bond proposal affects the long-range facility plan
