Lunch Plans Thursday? Let Texas Roadhouse Pick Up the Bill

Instead of paying for your lunch on May 30, the franchise steakhouse is asking diners to leave a donation to the Special Olympics of Iowa.

If you don't have lunch plans for Thursday, you do now.

Select Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Iowa, including the Johnston location at 8744 Northpark Dr., are participating in a special fundraiser on May 30. As a result, you can snag a free lunch on them.

What's the catch? There is none.

In exchange for picking up the bill, the restaurant is asking you to tip the local law enforcement officers who will be serving you the meal. One percent of all tips will go to the Special Olympics of Iowa.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Diners are limited to a select menu of pulled pork sandwiches, applesauce, fresh bread with honey cinnamon butter, and a beverage.
