Adam Obrecht is excited about the opportunity to serve a second term on the school board.
“I feel I can continue to be a voice for young families in the district," he said. "I have a vested interest with one son in school and another one to be in the class of 2029.”
Urbandale schools are strong, he said, but can always improve. Some of the key issues facing the board are:
Finding sustainable ways to provide technology to students to continually improve education may be at the top of the list, he said.
As a financial planner, he is interested in long-range planning and a way for the district to become a better of taxpayer dollars. “I am proud of the work the board and district did to get through some rough budget years," he said.
He serves as the board's liaison to the Urbandale Education Foundation, which he said can help enhance students' educational opportunities.
“The citizens support the kids in the district," he said. "We also have great relationships with the city and chamber that helps get things accomplished."
