Reception to Celebrate Forbes' Service Scheduled for Next Week

Urbandale City Councilman John Forbes was recently elected to serve as the House District 40 representative.

John Forbes has one more Urbandale City Council meeting before stepping down.

Forbes, who has served on the council since 2005, was elected in November to the House District 40 seat.

As the city sends Forbes to the House, it will host a reception celebrating his years on the City Council.

The farewell reception will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Urbandale City Hall.

Following the reception will be Forbes' final council meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

The Urbandale City Council is expected to choose a resident to fill Forbes' seat sometime in December, after an application and interview process.
