See Olympic Medalist Gabby Douglas at Urbandale Hy-Vee Store Today

Gold-medal gymnast Gabby Douglas will be at the Urbandale Hy-Vee store, 8701 Douglas Ave., today from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to sign autographs and greet fans, according to Hy-Vee's corporate office.

This is a promotional appearance sponsored by Kellogg’s, which is sponsoring the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics coming to Des Moines this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Iowa Events Center.

Douglas, a native of Virginia, spent the past two years training at Chow's Gymnastics in West Des Moines with Coach Liang Chow, who helped coach Shawn Johnson to Olympic golf in 2008. 

Johnson -- who has parlayed her stardom into two seasons on Dancing with the Stars and endorsement deals -- will also appear at Friday's Tour of Gymnastics event with dance partner Derek Hough, according to a news release. At the show, the pair will join in on the action with one of the show’s many choreographed numbers.

Friday's event will include performances by Douglas and other members of the 2012 All-Around gold-medal winning U.S. women's Olympic team, plus 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin and her fellow 2008 Olympic team silver medalists Chellsie Memmel and Alicia Sacramone.

2012 Olympians currently scheduled to participate in the Kellogg’s Tour are: Douglas, Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton, McKayla Maroney, John Orozco, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber.
