First prize: a skate board from Subsect.
Wilhite has been watching the competition for seven years.
"We've seen a lot of the kids who start as beginners, and now they're working their way up to advanced," Wilhite said. "I've seen a lot of these kids grow up."
She said the skate park is good for Urbandale, and good for the skaters.
"The thing about these skaters is that they really like the park, and they really like that we like them," Wilhite said. "A lot of people have a hard time with skaters skating on our property, but now that we have a park especially for that, they do a really good job watching over it and taking care of that, so we appreciate that.
